Recommend you Water Pik
Dentist said I'm not doing such a great job at flossing & said a Water Pik is the next best thing. Can you recommend yours? Thx.

Re: Recommend you Water Pik
I have the professional version. avoid the version that looks like an electric toothbrush (for travel).... it breaks very quickly.
Seriously, though.... I was told by my dentist that the water pik is NOT a substitution for flossing.... it can't remove tartar... only floss can. (and true to form, when I was only waterpiking, I got gingivitis .
also, if it's angled the wrong way, it can actually push food under the gumline.... so be careful how it's angled.

Re: Recommend you Water Pik
I recommend the Waterpik Ultra Dental Water Jet.
My dentist recommends the Hydrofloss brand. But I have used the Hydrofloss for years and it always breaks down.
I recently bought the Waterpik Ultra and my latest checkup was great. The dentist's office has a computer machine that checks your pockets, and I got all 1s and 2s this time, when usually I get 2s and 3s, and sometimes 4s.
The Waterpik Ultra hasn't broken down. Seems sturdy.
(I also recently switched to a calcium/zinc toothbrush and calcium/zinc rinse, recommended by the dentist. So it's possible that the calcium/zinc helped, instead of the Waterpik. lol. But maybe all 3 helped!)
