REcommend your Birth Control

and reasons why you like it?

any issues on it?
ETA:I should have been more clear. I'm not on BC for BC purposes. i'm on it to help with my cycles which due to being extremely heavy are contributing to my anemia. Which a couple months ago was extremely bad. Hemoglobin was way below normal.

Re: REcommend your Birth Control

i'm currently not on anything but I can tell you what I DON'T recommend...the depo shot! That's the one where they give you an injection 4 times per year.

After my first one I got my period and 5 months later I still have it. I think I've had about 7 days where I wasn't bleeding in that time...and that was after I didn't go back from the second shot. My hormone levels are so wacked out...worst decision ever for me!

Prior to having my son I was on aviane (bcp) which is low dose and have had good experiences with it for years.

Mirena IUD. No thought process, just in and forget about it for up to 5 years.

I am thinking of having this done. Just can't stand being on the pill anymore. My sex drive is non existent. Any side effects? Did it hurt putting it in? Thanks so much in advance!

Nuvaring

I used to have heavy periods for 7 days- now they last maybe 3-4 days and are much lighter most months (I have had a few heavier months- but not like "normal" heavy)

It hurt like a b@TCH going in. Actually, the doctor said it feels like "contractions" .. since I never even had one contraction with my son, I never knew how painful they were. The intense cramping pain went away within 3-4 minutes. Then I was sore for a few days. I am on week 3 of having it - intermetant barely spotting and no pain at all. A little cramping once in a while, but little.

The IUD can make your AF almost non existant - some women stop bleeding all together while on - so it 'could' be an option - you could speak to your doctor about it.

I was on Nordette BC Pill for a few years and that also lightened AF to almost nothing. Each month, Spotting for 2 days then nothing.
