Recommend Your Dog Beds!

So we have two giant dogs- each about 70- 80 lbs. (a collie mix and a pit bull mix). When we lived in our apartment, one dog would sleep on the bed and the other would sleep on the couch. We didn't really have the space for big dog beds for them. Now that we just bought a house, they both like to sleep in the bedroom. The one dog still sleeps on our bed... which is fine by us. We're used to it. But the other dog doesn't like to be crowded like that so he sleeps on the floor next to the bed. Right now I put down a pillow with a fluffy blanket over it, but I feel bad. I want him to have his own bed. They are just SO expensive! It seems like every dog bed I've bought in the past hasn't lasted long. I'd like something large and with a removable cover that won't break the bank. There's plenty of options on places like Groupon, but the reviews are so mixed and I don't want to waste my money. Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Chat Icon

My dog has several beds (but he's a small dog, so they don't take up a lot of room). The one he seems to like best is from Petco - I don't know the brand, but it has a removable cushion in the "center" that fits into the part with an edge that comes up around the sides and back (sorry - not sure how to describe it). I also got him one at HomeGoods - they had a lot of options and really good prices. It's the same shape as the other one, but the cushion doesn't come out

ETA: This is the one from Petco. My dog definitely likes have the "sides" that go around the center cushion

We have this one from overstock for our 70lb pit mix. He has very bad back legs so we wanted something very co for table for him. It's soft (memory foam), has a waterproof cover under the suede cover and I take the suede cover off every other week, sometimes every week, to wash it. It maintains its shape well. We've had it for almost a year now.

I love the Costco dog beds. They have different sizes. They are usually around $40.

Re: Recommend Your Dog Beds!

I bought a dog bed for my living from from homegoods! It's foam - like temperpedic and had a zip off cover. Soooooo easy for cleaning. When I clean the living room, I unzip the cover and toss it in the wash.

It was like $30

It's for my rottweiler. She's just under 100 lbs. Even my dogs are on a diet hahaha

Wow- that looks super thick and comfy. My dogs are getting up there in age, too- 9 and 10 this spring- but they still act like puppies. Chat Icon Chat Icon Still, I like the look of these.

Thanks everyone- Homegoods was definitely another place I wanted to check out. I just haven't had a chance to get over there. I looked in Kohl's, Target, BJs, and Christmas Tree Store and nothing did it for me!

I let my little girl pick the bed, I brought home 2 different types and the one she went to first is the one she checked out a second time, that's the one I kept and she loved it for 14 yrs. I bought her a new one that I pick out and she still wanted an used the original one lol
