Re: Recommend your fav places in Venice, Florence, Rome, Taormina...

Venice is amazing - definitely one of my favorite places. Piazza de San Marco is wonderful. At night there are 3 cafes where you can sit down for an extremely overpriced cup of espresso/coffee and listen to live music. Definitely worth it! My best advice for Venice: walk around and get lost. You'll find some amazing churches and sites. Also, if you have time, take the water taxi to Murano and/or Burano. Beautiful! As far as restaurants, just look for things off the beaten path, not big touristy looking places.

The thing I remember the most about Taormina are the amazing views. It's high up and the views were spectacular. I was only there for a day -the rest of our time in Sicily was spent in Catania.

Rome - so many things to see and do, never enough time. I would say pick a few things that interest you and focus on those. The basics (and some of my faves) include St. Peter's, the Colosseum/Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Trevi fountain, Piazza del Popolo, the Pantheon. If you're into museums, the Vatican Museum and Borghese Gallery have amazing collections. Lots of shopping on Via del Corso.

Have a great time!!
