Recommend your first time sippy cup
DD willbe 6 months old next week and our ped said we can start to give her juice. I want to put it in a sippy cup although I know at he beginning she won't have a clue what to do with it. What is a good sippy cup for a first time user?

In the beginning Chelsea would only use the nuby cups.

Nuby's are a great first cup...dd is now on straw cups.
Also...if you are set on giving dc juice try mots for tots...it's 1/2 waterish and less sugar. dd never took to juice...it's either water or milk.

I love the Munchkin ones. The nipple is soft so it's an easy transition from nottle to cup. And, it has 2 handles which is great too.

Re: Recommend your first time sippy cup
DS#1 started with NUBYs - they are almost like a bottle anyway - until he got used to straws (I've heard from speech teachers that straws are the best for their muscle development). Someone gave me the trick to take a juice box and squirt some juice in their mouth to get them to learn the straw - that's what worked for DS#1
DS#2 learned really early to use straws, since he would pick up his older brother's cup and figured it out on his own.

Re: Recommend your first time sippy cup
we loved the nuby cups BUT ds figured out rather quickly how to destroy the holes by putting his fingers in them and then they leaked EVERYWHERE... we ended up getting the munchkin dual handle soft top cups which are similar to the nuby... they are alittle lighter which makes it easier and the spout is alot more sturdy

Yup, we started with the nuby and DD actually seems to like the munchkin one better, and so do I, for some reason I think they just work better for her!
