Re: Recommend your Food Processor

I RARELY use my large processor for my family of 4. I use my Cuisenart mini prep for every meal. It's fantastic.

If you need a large one (for anything other than chopping, grinding and blending) - you should get the large Cuisenart. It's cumbersome and I don't have a place for it on the counter so it's almost always in storage.. but when I need it, it's never failed me.

I'm with rojerono on this one!

I use the mini prep a lot more than my larger one... although I do use the larger one for making pizza dough and sometimes for different pastries...

I think my mini is 4 cups...

Re: Recommend your Food Processor

I have cuisinarts. I rarely use the small one anymore (it's a mini attachment for my blender), and use my larger food processor all the time. It's a 7 cup. I cook a lot though, so if you don't cook often, or have a need to chop or mix, you might not need the big one.

This is my 7-cup biggie.

And this is my blender with the 3-cup processor attachment.

Before I received the 7-cup, I used the small one all the time. I still use the small for herb chopping/blending, or small bread crumb jobs, but use the big one now for almost everything-- sweet bread making, cheese grating, potato and veg chopping/slicing...it's an awesome tool.

And they're both on sale right now, which is a bonus. Chat Icon

It's 4 cups. For most things it suits me just fine!

This is my 12 cup biggie:

I cook often.. but I just don't find much use for the big guy.. maybe if I had a bigger kitchen with more counter space I'd find more reason for it.. but my mini prep is my best friend.

Re: Recommend your Food Processor

I have a cuisinart, that I use primarily for making dessert-type of items. We got a combo food processor/blender so the food processor only holds 3 cups -- it is NOT enough. Get at least 4 cups, more if the price is reasonable.

ETA a pic of our blender/food processor, from BBB:

Re: Recommend your Food Processor

I have the 7 cup cuisenart but I wish I had the 11 cup one. I used to have the mini prep and I found it completely useless.

ETS: I had a 2 cup mini prep. It was replaced by the 4 cup one. The two cup one was just way to small.
