Recommend your knife block

We got a Cuisinart knife block set for our wedding shower 5 years ago and the knives and scissor are totally dull.

I'm looking to get a new one....anyone have one they love?

I have Wustoffs. GOt them for my bridal shower in 09. We just had them resharpened. That's an option over buying new ones.

I have Cutco knives...Love them! You can send them back to be resharpened or they will replace it for free-they have a lifetime guarantee....plus I just have the $20 double set of sutoku henckel knives from bed bath and beyond...

All knives eventually need to be rehoned or resharpened. It has nothing to do with the actual knife.

What kind of cutting board do you use? A wood board is more gentle then glass or hard plastic and will give you extra life out of your knives.

I use wood (except for raw meat of course). I'm not crazy about how they held up either. The handles are cracking and the tip of the paring knife actually broke off.

We went looking around tonight and I'll prob get one we saw at Macy's (can't remember the brand off hand)
