Please Recommend your OB who delivers at South Nassau!

Couple of things I particularly want to know -

Were you happy with them
I'd like to try for a VBAC, do you think he/she would be supportive?

Thanks!

I use Arnelle Blinderman and I love her. The rest of the practice is kind of split. She has one partner who I like though not as much. She has 3 nurse midwives, one is great the other is ok. And one nurse practitioner who is nice though not as knowledgeable as the others. it's an all female office. No idea how they feel about VBAC. Haven't had any Cs so never had that issue. Office is in RVC.

Just as an FYI, I loved the practice I used when I had DS, but they were not VBAC supportive, so I would not use them if that's what you want. If you're going to have another C, they are wonderful. The practice is Long Island Women's Health Care Associates on Merrick Rd in Bellmore.

I use the same practice. Dr. Blinderman just did my first c-section and we talked about VBAC in the future and she seemed supportive.

I used this same practice and had to have a c-section. I mentioned vbac at my 6 week appointment and they seemed supportive.

I found both Dr. Blinderman and Dr. King to be great. Dr. King is more conservative/cautious IMO but she induced me and I had crazy complications and she and a midwife were there, definitely in control of the situtaion, and there seemingly the entire time. I remember waking up about 2AM and one of the midwives that was there when i checked in at 5PM was still there. Another was there a few hours later as my saga continued.

This is who I used as well. My Dr told me that they would entertain VBAC depending on scar tissue--however I am not preggo with #2 and therefore haven't crossed that bridge yet. The Dr that delivered my DD (Dr. Gates) left the practice shortly after I gave birth and moved to CA. Dr Glasser was very nice and I always seemed to have my appts with her. I am not sure what they have done since Dr. Gates left the practice and who is now delivering but overall I have been going to the practice since before I was pregnant and hope to continue going there after. The only problem I have is there wait can be a little longer then normal but it tends only to be for the no-preggos.

I have been using LI Women's Health Care for yrs. They are in Bellmore on Merrick Road. Dr. Gates (who is no longer there) deliver DD#1 and Dr. Glasser deliver DD#2 both by c-sections. Dr. Glasser said she would do a VBAC only if I went into labor on my own before my scheduled c-section.
As far as I know Dr. Glasser is the only Dr. in the office doing deliveries (but it is hard to get appts with her) but the older male drs in the office will see you for regular appts and they hired a nurse practioner also for regular OB appts.

Dr Dean is awesome....He wasn't my regular OB, but he was on duty when I was having DS. He was so nice and took care of me so much better then my regular ob...He delivered DS via emergency c-section and you can barely see my scar...Awesome Dr. When we move in the new year, I am going to start going to him all the time...

Dr. Polina Kagan

I love her. She delivered two of my kiddos and I have no complaints.

She would have let me try for a VBAC with my second but I opted for a repeat c-section. I won't say she was super enthusiastic about it but she said it was my choice.

ETA: Oops just realized she isn't in the area you want to be.
