Re: Recommend your pot and pan set
I have Calphalon Tri-ply stainless and like them.
Personally, I would avoid nonstick as they do get ruined if you use anything sharp on them and I worry about the chemicals in the pans.

Re: Recommend your pot and pan set
We have the Emerilware by All-Clad set.
I figure it must be good if All-Clad put their name on it.
They're a little on the heavy side but I love them.
Link to BBB
Macys has the same set listed for $280.
eta: mine also do not have the pour spouts - they must have re-vamped the set.

Re: Recommend your pot and pan set
We use T-Fal pots and pans and love them. I'm the laziest chef ever and pay no attention to dishwasher safe/don't use specific utensils/maybe you should grease the pan before cooking in them warnings and with the T-Fal things rarely stick and they are indestructible. I've had the same $100 set since 2000!

Re: Recommend your pot and pan set
We have the "Simply" Calphalon set which is their most cost effective and it is absolutely wonderful. We *love* it -- it is so highend but really didn't carry the highend price tag.

Re: Recommend your pot and pan set
I have Cuisinart Chef's Classic stainless steel. Was skeptical when I ordered but figured WTH I'll try them. For such an inexpensive set (I think I paid $200 for ten piece set) they are well made and not too heavy. I love cooking with them and they clean so easily.

I have calphalon hard anodized non stick and stainless. I use both sets, but for different things. Definately an investment, but worthwhile.

Re: Recommend your pot and pan set
Love my All Clad but they are heavy.
I am looking for a good non stick and like the commercials for the calphalon non stick. I may try that.
The Rachel Ray pots look good too but not sure if they will last.

Re: Recommend your pot and pan set
I don't believe in pot & pan sets... quite frankly, you'd be better off getting different pots & pans open stock, b/c there different style pans are good for different applications- for example, you wouldn't want to make eggs and pancakes in a s/s pan by allclad... nor, would I want to use a s/s pan to sear a steak... as a personal who cooks quite frequently, I recommend:
All Clad s/s saucier Le Creuset french oven (coated cast iron) for soups & stews, red sauce, etc. traditional cast iron pan this is the workhorse of my kitchen- i sear steaks in it, make cornbread in the oven in it, etc.. LOVE this. I never put it away- it stays on my stove top all year. cheaper s/s pots that are smaller- for making oatmeal, blanching vegetables, etc... you'd use the all clad saucier for making rice in, etc. larger stock pot for boiling pasta- doesn't need to be $$$ b/c you aren't really doing anything major in it. some type of "green" non-stick pan for pancakes & eggs
