Recommend your Pre-Natal
I've been taking Your Life Multi-vitamins and they were great. The only over the counter brand I could find that didn't make me want to vomit.
Then I bought a new bottle two weeks ago, actually 2 (Sale). I think they changed the formula because the smell is horrible and I start gagging the minute I open the bottle to take one.
So those who struggle with pre-natals, what brand did you settle on?

One a Day made me throw up. Do the gummies taste funny? Do they have DHA?

I was never able to get through chewing the gummies when I was really sick. The ones I had did have DHA though.

Recommend your Pre-Natal
i was on a prescription and COULD NOT take it for about a month at the end of my 1st tri. i got some samples when i told the dr at my appt, then when i ran out, I slacked until my next dr appt. then i decided to get over it and try the originals again. they dont bother me AT ALL now. i guess it was just like a food that you can't stand.
ETA- they are vitafol w/ DHA. i was going to switch to a lower DHA but never did

I also take the Rainbow Light pre-natal pills and DHA (2 separate pills). I order them from Amazon. They have NEVER upset my stomach and I can take them without having eaten anything first thing in the morning. The DHA is not fishy at all -- it has orange oil in it and smells citrusy. The only con is that the pills are on the large side BUT you only need one of each a day. Some brands of pre-natals require you to take 2-3 pills a day. I'd rather just pop one and be done.
P.S. I priced them out and buying them OTC was still significantly cheaper than getting a prescription pre-natal and going through my insurance.

I thought that might be the problem, but most of my food aversions are gone now. I'm almost 17 weeks. These have a distinctly bad odor. My husband gags when I open the bottle too. Definitely didn't used to have that.

I take vitafusion gummies now. I was taking the ones from GNC...plant based/vegan or something like that but I got to the point where the smell made me nauseous and I couldn't swallow them without gagging. LOL.

For those of you who use the gummies, what type of iron are you taking along with it? Those gummies don't have iron in them, and I'd like to start taking them.

Re: Recommend your Pre-Natal
I just use the One-A-Day with DHA and I've been ok with them so far. The RE gave me a whole bunch of sample packs of prescription prenatals and told me to pick one with my OB, but the OB just told me to take OTC. She said find the cheapest ones; CVS brand was fine. She said the prescription ones were all a racket LOL

I take Vitapearl w/DHA! I love them since they are so small and haven't given me any problems. It's via prescription that ships to me each month (auto delivery). My RE recommended them.

If I could do it all over again, I would have taken rainbow light prenatal. Ah well, you live and learn.
