Re: Recommend your slow cooker

I had mine with no real problems for about two years also, the cover never fit perfectly but I dealt with it. Today I come home to to see almost no liquid left in my pot roast and it smells like it is starting to burn, I blame it on the cover. Read online that this is a common problem and then call and order a new one for $30 because I am no longer under warranty. I add more liquid and deal with my pot roast, it actually comes out ok. When I go to take the ceramic pot out of the electric part I find that there must have been a hairline crack in the pot and a lot of the liquid has now leaked onto the electric part and burned. I go online again and see that this is also a common problem with this pot and that there is a good chance it will happen to me again. So I called to explain and cancelled my cover order.
I am really surprised because all of my other kitchen aid appliances both large and small have been nothing but great.

Thank really stinks! Do you soak the ceramic pot before cleaning it? Just curious I think that can cause cracking over time.

Get the crock pot brand! I have a 4.5 Quart(I think) oval with removable liner, 4 settings, plus warm setting. love it.

Same! I wanted one that was programmable so it automatically switches to warm after the cooking cycle.

ETA...I've had it 3 years and love it! I use it about once a week in the fall/winter months.

I'm so glad to hear this - this one is on my Christmas list (Chat Icon yea...I'm one of those girls that puts kitchen appliances on her xmas list) so I'm happy to hear it's a good one.
