recommendation for an extension on my house
I have a Levits house (no dining room).
I think we want to see how much it would cost to do an extention on the back on the house (towards the backyard) where the living room is. The roof does not have any dormers upstairs. So the roof connection would be fairly simple. I don't want a porch. I want a real extention with flooring.
Does anyone did this kind of job on their house?
Who did you use or would you recommend?
TIA

Re: recommendation for an extension on my house
I'd be interested as well. The house DH has his heart set on already has the extended living room, but the decor is horrible, (as well as the rest of the house) and the house I like is pretty much a blank slate, except it does not have the extension, but an enclosed porch.
I'm just wondering which would be cheaper in the long run to re-do?
Plus, each house has a 1/2 bath on the second floor, which we'd eventually like to make a full bath.
Any help with pricing would be appreciated!!!

Re: recommendation for an extension on my house
My friend is in the process of doing this at his house. They have a standard cape in Wantagh and they are doing an upward extension. The GC is Stone's Construction. I belive their office is in Farmingdale. They gave the most competetive bid and let me tell you - their work looks fantastic. Very neat and professional. They are also sticking to the schedule very closely so that my friend can move back into in house as soon as possible. He is very pleased with them.
