Recommendation for OB/GYN affiliated with LIJ woman's center
Hey ladies.....I am not really TTC just yet but more just lurking in the shadows wishing lots of for you that are! Hopefully around June you will see me on this side of town. Until then I am hoping that you ladies can give some suggestions of OB/GYN that is affiliated with the new women's hospital that is a part of LIJ. I love my doctor, but I do not care for Mercy hospital which he is affiliated with, or south shore because it is a little far from me now that I moved to Queens.
I will need a follow up in a few months so figured now would be the time to do my research and follow up and meet a new doctor where I feel more comfortable eventually giving birth
TIA ladies!

Dr.Clifford Goldstein in Great Neck. He is affiliated with the new hospital, they waits aren't long and his staff is great! He also accepts almost all insurance.

I've read really good things on LIF (and google searches) about the Ann & Jules Gottlieb center, here's a list of their doctors, I've read good things about Dr. Valerie Altmann and Dr. Schulz (I just changed to this practice though so I don't have any experience there yet, but hoping for a good 1st appointment next month!!). good luck!

Re: Recommendation for OB/GYN affiliated with LIJ woman's center
I go here! Dr Schulz is my doc and I LOVE her. She is very down to earth and thorough. I saw her yesterday and she made them take my blood pressure three times before I left because it was a little high. (not pregnant just on BC)My son is 8 months and I used that practice throughout. Never have a long wait either most maybe 10-minutes. Dr. Altman ended up delivering my son. great experience. Not my favorite doctor but she is good too(A little b*chy). I think I've just dealt with her on bad days though. I've seen Dr. Hippolyte too. She is great too. For future reference, They did our first sono there in the office as well as blood work. All important baby sonos, you will need to go to LIJ Antepartum testing unit. And Sugar test you will have to go to another lab. My sister works in L&D at LIJ and a lot of the nurses go here too. Oh and she said the new hospital is AMAZING! I can't wait to have another baby to use it!

That is great to hear!!!
What is the LIJ Antepartum testing unit? Is that in a separate location other than the office?

It's like high risk doctors I believe. They do the testing for downs and anatomy scans and stuff like that. Their office is in the hospital itself in new hyde park. The anne & jules Gottlieb womens center is on northern blvd. in Manhasset

Ohh got it! Thanks a bunch.
Do you know once you do get a BFP when will they see you for blood work or anything?
I know my last doctor will not make your first appt until you are 8 weeks...and I wasn't a fan of that.

Re: Recommendation for OB/GYN affiliated with LIJ woman's center
I called right away and I made appt for two weeks later i think. I think I was like 7 weeks or something. I can't remember if they made me POS then They did a sono to see if it was viable and then a TON of bloodwork. I don't remember them calculating or anything to wait til 8 weeks. The sono tech did warn that it was early and we might not see anything though.

Oh great to hear! Yea not quite 2 months but they wanted you to miss 2 periods which isn't far off. But good to know that there are no specific requirements like that. I had a chemical last year so I would want to make sure everything is on track.
