Recos for restaurants on the water on South Shore in Nassau/Western Suffolk?

Hi - I'm looking to find a restaurant for my dd's christening and I was hoping to find a restaurant (or country club) on the water in or around Massapequa, Seaford, etc and as far East as South Amityville.

Anyone know of a place that has good food, good views and can hold around 50-60 people?

I'm not sure if this is even the best board for the question but I figured I'd try here first.

Isn't the Riviera on the water in Massapequa? Nothing else comes to mind. I can't believe you are planning the Christening already!! Good for you!

Chat Icon I'm so anal.

There was a small yacht club I found in S. Amityville that looks great but you have to be a member or be sponsored - so I'm wondering if there are any other places like that, where the general public can go as well.

Holy! I thought I was anal planning the boys' birthday parties in February. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Why not just have Katherine's (Chat Icon Chat Icon) party where you had Em's? You were happy with them, no? I had my 2 at the same place, although I'm a sukker for "tradition". Chat Icon

Thanks Cathy Chat Icon

Kathi - that place is my back up Chat Icon Actually, it's where we probably WILL have her party since we were really happy with them and their prices are very reasonable for the food and what you get. But since we've moved down here i would LOVE to find a place on the water with a nice view. It kills me that I love blocks from the water and we never really take advantage of it! There aren't a lot of places around here on the water it seemsChat Icon

I'll look into the ones Cathy suggested though.

If you can hold out a while you can have it at Trump's new joint at Jones Beach. I bet it's going to be really classy and understated. Chat Icon

I've never heard of Catfish so I'll def. check it out Chat Icon

Yeah, I cannot imagine Trump's place - I picture all gold and glitter! I have a feeling it'll be a little bit out of our price rangeChat Icon

I know you didn't post this town, but it's close. What about any of the restaurants on the Nauticle Mile in Freeport?

Cathy named all the places I would have thought of...I had looks at Jacksons Landing for Kevins - it is right by my house but I didn't have the right number to get the whole restaurant at that time. And too many for just the water view.

In ended up doing Toque (now Lucas on Merrick Rd) - didn't do on the water. It was one of my favorite local restaurants (haven't been there since it changed names) and pretty much the only restaurant that had availabilty the day I wanted to do the christening since it was about 8 weeks before the date and a May date. They were ok but a little too small for my party.

Not sure where I'd go this time...I want a private room this time - I think. May look at Antonettes or Matteos - although I hate to do Italian since I find it boring - lol. Maybe I'd look back at Jacksons Landing. I'd like to stay close to my church/house.

I know that place! My friends that live in the area took us out there. Good food at the time but yeah, it was small.

Italian can be boring because it's ALL that is around it seems!!Chat Icon
