Recurring Odor In My Home - Could It Be Washing Machine?

My washing machine is very old - it's been here for years before we moved in. I do my best to keep it clean and it works just fine. However, I feel like this recurring odor that I smell throughout my home is coming from the machine. I've tried using Affresh and it seems to do the trick temporarily - although maybe it's just a coincidence and it has nothing do to with machine lol
The odor isn't bad when I open the machine door - it's not in the drum itself which is why it's a little confusing. Could it be in the pipes? Anyone with a similar experience? I figured I'd investigate before I pay a fortune for a plumber.

this happens to me every once in a while and the affresh fixes it for a few months. I don't know if its sewage though backing up.

It could be.. do you leave it open to dry out?

I used Affresh a few times, but personally, I like baking soda and a hot cycle better. I put it in the drum, where the soap goes, everywhere that water may flow in and out of.

I do that maybe once a month, plus leave washer open to dry after every use, and haven't had an odor in a long time.

Do you find that you can smell it throughout your entire home?
