Redness in vagina and butt
DD is 6 yrs old, and lately she's been getting red (reminds me of diaper rash but not raised) on her vagina and by her butt...all external. I'm not sure if it's a wiping issue or what. I have been either giving her a shower or cleaning her every day and it keeps happening.
I put aquafore on it at night and that seems to helpl. But I don't know what else it could be? Anyone have any thoughts?

Wiping issue.
Use baby wipes for poop, cotton underwear and a dose of desitin as needed.
As per my ped it is very common.
Oh.., and butt wash with soap every day (we don't shower every day).

Sounds like she isn't wiping well. Use a little butt paste or desitin and it should be fine.

You can let her sit in an Epson salt bath to help clear it up and then put on some triple paste.

Wiping issue. My DD is 5 and was red too. I used butt paste on her at night and we went over how to wipe properly again. It's all better now.

My DD is 7 and gets the same. I am not positive it is a wiping issue bc I watch her and she is pretty good. I kinda think it might be more of a yeast issue? She got a lot of yeast diaper rashes as a baby and the dr always told me some little girls just produce more than others. It does help when I put triple paste on it.

If it keeps coming back you might want to have her checked, as it could be an infection. DD1 gets yeast infections regularly and only clear with an anti fungal.

If it is not about wiping can you check what toilet paper your using when it happens? I get red and irritaed from the cheap toilet paper at work. I hafta walk around with my own after I noticed it happening many times at work!
