Refi question...GFE vs. actual closing costs
I am refinancing with the same lender. I got the GFE and my loan officer told me the numbers represent the "worst" case scenario and that they include certain things I won't actually have to pay in full like the NY state stamp tax.
Anyway, if you refinanced, what were your actual closing costs vs. your GFE? You can FM me if you like.

Re: Refi question...GFE vs. actual closing costs
Ugh my GFE was about $12,000 and then we were told that after deductions from the standard template and getting rid of our mortgage tax, etc., it would be worst case scenario - $7,900. WELL...the day of closing...and not a day before...we were told to have a certified check in the amount of $15,000!!!! I almost had a panic attack! They failed to tell us that there would be another month of escrow added on due to the closing date at the end of the month and that we couldn't roll in the point we wanted to roll into the mortgage because it would bring us over 20% and we would have to then pay PMI. They knew this and failed to tell us and I was furious! Anyway, we paid it, and now have a rate of 4.625.
