Refresh my memory on how long Similac is good for...
Once I open the RTF container i know its only good for 72 hours. But i premake DS's bottles for nighttime feedings and last night i took one out, warmed it, and then went to give it to DS but he fell back asleep. He never drank from it. So is it ok to put back in the fridge or dump it?

if you warm it, you're supposed to toss it.

I've been thinking about this alot lately. I was so by the book with Jack - but I'm starting to think it's all a scam for us to use more of their formula. WTH knows what the right thing is.

72 hrs for RTF??? WOW! Maybe Similac is different because I used Enfamil RTF and it said on the can to use within 48hrs. of opening it. Formula (even RTF) gets funky fast. I wouldn't use it for up to 72hrs. As annoying as it was we always tossed bottles after they were warmed even if my DD didn't take a sip.
EDIT - I checked Similac's website. They too say to use the RTF formula within 48 hrs. I cut and pasted for you and added the link too!
If your baby does not drink directly from a nipple-ready bottle, you can store the opened container of ready-to-feed formula in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. See the label for specific instructions. (Be sure to twist the cap back on.)

I use the rule that if the bottle was heated up it can be used for 2 hours after, if its not heated and just a little used I just put it back in the fridge. I have done this with 3 kids and have never had a problem.
