Refrigerator temp/shelf questions (Goldenrod, bet you can answer!)
Does anyone know if your temp gauge in your frig has numbers, what is colder (the higher or lower #)?
I dont have my book for my frig, but the control has the word colder on left and warmer on right of the dial. There are numbers 1-7. When you turn the dial to the left, the numbers go up from 1-7. So when you turn it towards the word colder, the numbers go up....
But for some reason I can never figure out if the numbers mean coldest is 7 or coldest is 1? KWIM? Maybe I am dense....so can anyone answer?
Also...what shelf is the coldest? Top I would assume, going down for warmer.....yes or no? Thanks

The higher number is the coldest. As far as the shelf that is the coldest....Im not sure but I do know that our frig the farther towards the back the colder cause thats where a can of soda was when it exploded.

Re: Refrigerator temp/shelf questions (Goldenrod, bet you can answer!)
Usually the higher the number, the colder the temp. Cold air is heavier than warm air, so the bottom shelf will technically be colder.... however, unless the fridge isn't opened for days at a time, once you open the door, all the air swirls around and evens out again. Many fridges use the cold air from the freezer to cool the fridge, so the top shelf would be colder, since that's where the cold air blows directly.
The best thing to do is get a simple thermometer and put it on the shelves. Every fridge is a little different, and there are a lot of variables involved. How full the fridge is, if the shelves are solid or wire, top freezer or bottom freezer, etc, etc.
