So many people have told me that this was one of the many things they used the most.

ETA: Pack & Play was another must have that people told me about

It's the best thing ever invented!!!! It is so great that we are trying to wean my daughter from it now at 6 months!!!! I really do think it was the key to her sleeping through the night at 13 weeks...

I would put that and the video monitor in a tie for #1 most useful...

with a close second being the bouncy seat (Bella slept in that for the first two months)

Re: regestry must haves...

just be careful, most breast pumps are not returnable (nor exchangeable) if you don't end up using it. i was advised (by ladies here) to wait until after the baby born to see if nursing works out for us, then to get the breast pump.

Re: regestry must haves...

Necessities:
- carseat
- stroller
- infant tub
- bedding
- monitor

Stuff I'm getting a lot of use out of:
- bouncy seat
- Dr Brown's bottle set for the one formula feeding he gets every day
- steam sterilizer
- SwaddleMe blanket (he is only 2 wks old but will sleep for hours in this!!!)
- having LOTS of bassinet sheets, washcloths, changing pad covers, undershirts and simple outfits... otherwise it is constant laundry!

I'm a little disappointed in the boppy. So far it's not the holy grail product people told me it was. I sit in the glider and I find that nursing him is comfortable whether I'm using the boppy or not.
