registry - basic clothing

i know most ppl say not to put on clothes b/c ppl like to pick out clothes & buy it anyway...

but what about those white bodysuits that come in packs? or gowns or onesies? did u register for them? if so, how many/white sizes???

those bodysuits dont cover the baby's legs, so what are they for - to wear underneath clothes?

thanks!

I would register for them anyway. I know I did. Everyone told me not to, but I did what I wanted anyway. The packaged onesies I registered for, and sleepers too.
The onesies are mostly for under clothes I believe like an undershirt.

Re: registry - basic clothing

Yeah, I didnt register for outfits or specific bibs or anything like that. Just the basics, packs of onesies, sleepsacks and swaddlers. Thats all you really need and you can buy your own outfits, its more fun that way anyway, and also when people come to see the baby they usually bring clothes too. Oh and register for hooded towels and robes, even though I have like 16 hooded towels already! Chat Icon

thanks!

that's what i was thinking...not specific outfits...just those basics.

does this recommendation on bbb seem right...bbb online registry list says 4-6 of them

so just in size 0-3 months??? i dont want to be the one w/a crazy registry w/all these sizes!

Re: registry - basic clothing

I just registered for 2 packs of 0-3 and 2 packs of 3-6 of the white ones. I bought some extra on own anyway bc apparently they will go through them like crazy, or so I heard.

These are the exact ones I registered for! I love that they do not have to go over the baby's head (I'm a little nervous about that with a newborn).

I put a few packs in the 0-3 month size and a few in the 3-6 month size.

Other than that, no other clothes.

But I will register for some bibs, mittens, swaddlers, towels, etc. since those you need and will use. Just no real clothes (outfits).

I registered for onesies but, nobody bought them for me.

I didn't register for hats/bibs/other clothing and I got a ton of things (all unisex).

Re: registry - basic clothing

We registered when we were still Team Green and even after we accidently found out it was a she we stayed green and only my mom, Joe, me and my docs know it's a girl. We registered for 2pks each of newborn and 0-3 gerber short sleeve onsies and some cute gender neutral pj's and outfits. We got a few clothes but most did not buy much since ducks and frogs are about all you get that's not specific. People said they wanted to wait until the baby was born to buy clothes for us.

Re: registry - basic clothing

With DS we put that stuff on our registry just so we would get the 10% off at the end lol, but nobody bought the plain stuff.

The side snap onsies are the best in the beginning because of the umbilical cord. DS was born at 7lbs 6 oz. and he was only in newborn for a couple weeks, 0-3 for quite a while, and 3-6 for no time at all lol. It just depends on how they grow, I wouldn't buy to many of them in the beginning just because you never know.

Re: registry - basic clothing

I registered for two packs of each size... I got so many onesies that even though I registered for them, but didn't get the exact kind, I didn't have to worry about it...
