Re: Reindeer food on the lawn?
Here are two recipes I found when I googled
Linky We never did this though, we did leave a carrot for them and Santa would leave the end to show how much they liked it

Re: Reindeer food on the lawn?
We never did it before but are planning on making our own this year by mixing a little of all the cereal we have in the house - Cheerios, Cocoa Krispies and some dry Oats. We are going to add some glitter I think too....

Re: Reindeer food on the lawn?
Isabella got some from school, it's oatmeal and glitter. The smell of the oatmeal guides the reindeer, and the glitter helps to guide Santa.

The daycare directly gives this to the kids each year. It's a little ziploc bag full of oatmeal and glitter mixed together.

Re: Reindeer food on the lawn?
Not a mom, but I read somewhere to use sugar crystals instead of glitter.
"Traditional recipes call for glitter, but unless you purchase the pricey edible glitter from specialty shops, it won't be safe for birds and squirrels. Substituting colored sugar will still give a sparkly appearance, without being harmful to the actual animals who will end up eating it."
reindeer food
Here's to make colored sugar: sugar

Re: Reindeer food on the lawn?
Doesn't adding glitter give kids the wrong idea about glitter being edible?
