Remember that friend
I was complaining about who has no couth when it comes to talking to me about her boyfriend's sick father? She came to Alex's birthday party this weekend and in front of my entire family, including my father, she starts talking about his father, and how worried she is and yadda yadda yadda. I looked at her and said, in a low voice, MOLLY NOT NOW. She was so offended... guess I'll have to patch that one this week!

Re: Remember that friend
I don't think there's anything wrong with telling her that Alex's b-day party was not the time or place to discuss her boyfriend's father's illness. If I were you I would probably say something like, "I'm sorry if I offended you, but I didn't think it was a good time to talk about that."

Re: Remember that friend
I dont think you need to apoligize at all. That was very unappropriate of her 1.) because it is your daughters 1st birthday 2.) she knows it bothers you and 3.) it was infront of your father and mother which I think is very disrespectful.

Re: Remember that friend
Why are you friends with this person? How can she be offended - I think that she should appologize to you and it's not the place. I think that she likes drama and likes to talk about yourself. I say let her call you.
