Remember the guy in Office Space who sold magazines...
I just had someone like that come to my door. I am home alone and it was a young kid who came to the door..he gave me a whole speech about how he is trying to escape his old life and how he needs 20,000 points. I felt bad but I didn't buy anything. I'm scared that my personal info will be stolen or something. I was also nervous bc since I am alone who knows what can happen...I kept thinking he might push me into the house and do God knows what. I did feel bad though so I talked to him for about 15 min about why he was doing this and why isn't he looking for a legitimate job lol. I dunno..just felt sorry for him

Re: Remember the guy in Napoleon Dynamite who sold magazines...
?? I don't remember any guy selling magazines. Was it the girl who also sold the make-up, glamour shots and lanyard chains (can't remember the name of them now)?

Re: Remember the guy in Napoleon Dynamite who sold magazines...
I recently went through something similar. They claimed to work for a company called "Youth Solutions" which is supposed to help get troubled kids off the street, etc.
The guy that came to my door was really pushy!! I wanted to get rid of him quickly, so I agreed to purchase a couple of subscriptions (I need more mags like I need a hole in my head.) Anyway, he writes up the receipt and tells me "it will be $900." I laugh and say ""you're joking!?!" He replies "yeah, I'm just kidding" and then shows me the receipt for $600!!!
I eventually agreed to one 3 yr subscription for $66 and wrote him a check (which is something I NEVER do!!!) Afterwards I panicked over what I had done (b/c the guy had all my info now). The same day I canceled the subscription and notified them that I placed a stop payment on the check.
Now I don't answer the door. I'm tired of dealing with solicitors.

in the movie "office space" a guy came around selling magazines. I don't remember anyone in Napoleon doing that
(but I am normally buzzed when I watch that movie, so don't go by me)!!!

Remember the girl? She sold EVERYTHING!! His brother and uncle sold "tupperware" door to door.

I think that Deb sold glamour shots and boondoggle key chains and magazine subscriptions - but I'm not totally positive.

We never answer the door to people we don't know.
The houses in our new neighborhood are farther apart and so far no one has come door to door for anything.
