Remote Car starter
My MIL wants one for Christmas. I know nothing about them. Anyone have any brands that they recommend or know anything about them? My MIL has a chrysler town and country minivan (w/ electronic rear doors) - I think it's only a year or two old. TIA!

Re: Remote Car starter
This is the brand that my parents got me a few years ago (I had it on my very first car - it was great!)... Click Here - Best Buy I sold that car and no longer have remote start but I still miss it!! It was a great thing - your MIL will never want to live without it again! The winter is the best time - you get used to making sure you set the heat how you want it so then when you want to start it next (esp at night - for the next morning) it goes on and then when you get in - nice and toasty!!!
That particular brand worked great, the range was awesome - I could start it all the way from my upstairs bedroom window and the install was free with the purchase of the product. My parents got it at Circuit City but you could go to any of those kinds of stores - Best Buy, etc. The guys there will show you how to use it - meaning, when you have them install it and you go to pick the car up after it's done - they tell you all about the remote and how to use it.

Dh and I have both had viper and loved it, its true once you have that in your car you will never want to go without it, i have also heard from one dealer that Hornet is the same thing as viper just the name is different so its cheaper in cost but not in quality

Re: Remote Car starter
Be careful with this. I love mine but.......check with the cars warranty. Sometimes adding thing on like this will void the warranty.

the car i got it for was old and used so it didn't matter anymore - it was no longer under it's warranty but i have heard about this for newer cars.

I was just about to post it. If you wan one that doesn't viod the warranty you have to have it installed by the dealership.
