remote learning- livestreaming
Did your kids school districts do live streaming during remote learning this past spring?
If so, for what grades?
TIA!

They did not but it seems that this is part of the plan for the fall for ALL grades in my district.

My son’s school had a weekly google class meet where they did a community building activity and then practiced math and sight words. 30-45 minutes. The teacher also had drop in “Meet up” hours on Fridays. He was in K.
This year the fully virtual model will have live instruction every day. Students will be required to sign on, but it will not be live streaming 9-3. The amount of live instruction will vary by grade. It will be based on what is appropriate for a 1st vs 6th vs 12th grader.
Where I taught, I held live office hours 2x per week. I had a total of 5 students come. Right now, I have no idea what the plan for my school is. Directives have been vague. “Hybrid” but ZERO specifics so I can do no planning.

Nope. Not even a Google meet. No teacher interaction whatsoever. She was "taught" by You Tube videos and math apps. It was an unacceptable disgrace

Re: remote learning- livestreaming
All of the teachers in my district taught on Google Meet everyday.
My daughter’s teacher didn’t meet with the children to see how they were doing nor did she provide live instruction. She only created a 4 minute tutorials. I definitely expected more from my home district.

No - my 4th grader had a weekly google meet with his reading group to discuss life and the book they were reading. My 2nd grader had one in June just to chat and the second was a read aloud.
My 4th grader was interacting with teachers on Google classroom. My second graders experience was more like Nells.

No. There will be live teaching through Google Meets every day. There are many privacy issues with live streaming classes so we nixed that idea.

My kindegartener had optional fun Friday zooms. They were not instructional at all though. Nothing she was given was really instructional though.
My second grade did not. Her teacher did flip grids though and narrated power points. I was happy with how he teacher handled things.
I feel like I'm in the minority that I have no interest in my 5 and 8 year old sitting in front of a screen all day when they're not in school.

No. Just a couple prerecorded lessons. Even if we have to go full remote at some point this year the district made it clear there will be no live streaming at any point.

Re: remote learning- livestreaming
No there was no live instruction for either of my children. Toward the end of the spring on teacher tried to do a weekly story time on zoom.
And according to the remote learning “plan” they posted in the District website, live instruction is not part of the plan for this year either.
