Removing shower doors and frame

Our upstairs bathroom has glass shower doors and it is a PIA when bathing the baby. We are thinking about taking them down and putting up a shower curtain, but we aren't sure what type of damage the glue from the frame has done to the tiles and the tub. Do you think it would all need to be replaced or that we could just scrape off and clean up the glue?

You should be able to remove pretty much any glue they may have used. However, they may have screwed the frame into the wall so you may want to check that before you make your decision.

I took mine down myself. I unscrewed the frame from the walls and yanked the molding from the tub itself. I used some glue remover to get the dried bits of glue off. It really wasnt too hard.

I forgot about it being screwed in. Chat Icon What did you do with the screw holes? Did you have to replace all the tile?

WE took ours down for the same exact reason. The glue came off the side of the tub with no problem! The only tell-tale signs that there once was a shower door is 2 small screw holes in the tiles on each side. We haven't done anything to them just yet, you don't even see them with the curtain up Chat Icon I love the curtain 1000x better! So much easier!

I say go for it. I have seen them do it on home shows all the time. You should be able to scrape off any glue. And you could just fill in the holes with white bathtub caulking.

This is exactly what we did.
You shouldn't have any problems.
