Renters Insurance?
Does anyone who rents have renters insurance?
The kid next door is a menace and fights with his parents and the law and had threatened to burn their house down. We are attached to them and are starting to get afraid that if something happens we will lose everything. Also he has a habit of going out the back window and down our fire escape to flee from the cops. We are also afraid that he is break our window to try and hideout in our apartment and while he is there who know what he might take.
So my question is where did you get your insurance from and about how much does it cost per year. We have a smallish 3 room apartment in a 3 family house.
TIA

Re: Renters Insurance?
We have renters insurance through Geico. It's around $200 a year and we pay the whole year in one shot.
ETS- it is well worth the money IMO. It gives you piece of mind and isn't expensive.

Re: Renters Insurance?
We have renter's insurance through our car insurance co (Allstate), our bill was actually CHEAPER wen we added renter's insurnace, because the insurance cost about $200, but the "multi policy discount" too about $250 off the bill!

Re: Renters Insurance?
Before we bought our condo- we had renters insurance for our place in Manhattan. I believe that insurance with a rider for my e-ring was about $400 to $500 for the year.
We used all-state.

Re: Renters Insurance?
Of course we have renters insurance! We get it through our car insurance, State Farm. Not sure how much it is, cause DH takes care of that, but I am sure it isn't too much more if you tack it on another policy. We've got the 2 cars, renters insurance and my engagement ring and our wedding rings insured through them.

Re: Renters Insurance?
We have renters with Allstate also. Our car insurance is with them, so we too receive the multi-policy discount.
Definitely get it...

Re: Renters Insurance?
we do and its worth it.
The house we rented burned to the ground 8 years ago and we lost everything. Our landlord collected a pretty penny from home owners fire insurance on OUR belongings...
Its a SMALL price to pay god forbid something should happen...
