Renting a car with a carseat
If I rent a car with a carseat...do they install the carseat or do I have to do it myself? I may go visit a friend without DH.
I'm thinking of renting a carseat, rather than bringing my own, just because it would be easier than me trying to schlep everything by myself.

They won't install it for liability reasons - you have to install it yourself.
Edited to say - we just rented a car in Florida from Budget - we got a carseat, and it looked brand new - made by Evenflo. DH installed it within a few minutes.

I would call and ask. When we rented a car with car seats we had to install them ourselves - no booklet and the car seat looked like it was from 1985. It took us 45 minutes to figure it out - and it was 3 am our time. Not fun.

Oh gosh...maybe I will scrap this whole idea.
I'm going to Ohio and DH said I should drive...but i thought it would just be easier to fly, vs. a 7 hour car ride
