Renting a Hall? Need help.
My friend wants to have a bridal shower, about 30-40 people, but is on a tight budget. She cant have it at her house cause she lives in a 2 bdr. apt w/her parents, so thats out.
I was thinking Knights of colombus, I remember (I think) that my cousin had her b-day there. I tried navigating their website, ugh, IM LOST!!
She needs to do it in Queens. How do I get in touch w/ this group? Anyone have any idea of the $$? It would be 4 hrs. OR does anyone have any other rec's on CHEAP places to have it.
Im thinking renting a place and then catering food would be cheaper than the traditional sit-down or buffet at a restaurant. There was a restaurant willing to do it for $30pp and it was too much still. So anyone know of a restaurant <$30PP?
Thank you so much. This girl is really sweet and I would like to help her find a place to do it, or she wont do it at all.

I know Lenny's has a menu for like $27.99 pp. I think there are places a few bucks cheaper.
My friend's parents rented a VFW Hall in LI for this graduation party and broguth in their own food and decorated themselves. It was a nice party and they saved a bundle. I think they said the hall rental was only like $300

Re: Renting a Hall? Need help.
My bridal shower was at the New York Irish Center in LIC. It was a great place, really cheap to rent. My mom wanted a place like this specifically, because she could bring in her own food AND alcohol which VFW halls will not allow. They want you to use their cash bar.
Anyway, it doesn't look like much but they had a kitchen in the back so my mom and aunts catered the party themselves.
Check it out!

Damn! That's weird, too. They definitely didn't need an elevator! I'll ask my mom if she found anything else in her searches, she was really concentrating on Queens!

Re: Renting a Hall? Need help.
my best friend had her shower at Aunt Bella's in Douglaston. The food was excellent, it held 40ppl, and is in your price range.

Where in Queens? There are couple of Indian restaurants I have been to where the food was great, and I think the pp was about 20 something.. Tandoor in Rego Park was the most recent. It was good. They have an upstairs hall.

You should try Luigi's in Glen Oaks. Their package price p/p should be at or below what you are looking for.

Re: Renting a Hall? Need help.
Hey!! So my mom could only think of two off the top of her head- one was the Knights of Columbus Hall in Richmond Hill and the other is this place. I don't know anything about them other than the fact that she ended up not going with them. Good luck!
ETA: Wait a minute! The place that I included the link for is where I had my sweet 16 years ago. It was pretty good then, though I'm not sure of the pricing. Worth a look though!

my bridal shower was at Brick Cafe in Astoria...it was very nice, intimate and i believe it was reasonably priced.
