Renting a steam cleaner
Has anyone rented those carpet steam carpet cleaning machines from Waldbaums or Home Depot? Do they help get rid of pet accident smells?
TIA

Re: Renting a steam cleaner
I never rented one but my parents have a bissel one. It does clean rugs nicely especially with pets. We had a dog & my parents would use it once a month or so. They are relatively cheap & good to invest into one. They also do bare floors like tile...

Re: Renting a steam cleaner
Friends of ours rented one from Home Depot and it did a great job cleaning the rugs.

We rented a Rug Doctor from our Stop and Shop. It was great (we have a dog) it just takes a little while to dry but it's not difficult to use at all.

Thanks!
I was worried the ones you rent aren't equipped well enough to get out pet urine. It was a rug my mother gave me and it's fairly new but my mom's dog had a couple of accidents on it and it seems to be lingering still.

We rented a rug doctor from Waldbaum's. You have to purchase the cleaning agent with it and they do have a "pet odor" one available. Just be sure to vaccuum thoroughly beforehand.

How much does it usually cost to rent one of the Rug Doctors?

I *think* we paid about $50 total for a day, because we rented the larger cleaner, which cost more, and then we had to purchase the cleaning solution and we also purchased a stain sprayer and we rented the hose attachment for the stairs.

Re: Renting a steam cleaner
Buying one only costs a few hundred, so it may be something to look into buying, especially if you have pets. It winds up being cheaper after half a dozen uses or so.

Thanks everyone!
I don't have a pet but if I did I would definitely look into buying of those machines. It actually was a newly purchased rug from my mother that I absolutely love and my old dog peed on it and the smell is still there a little bit and I want to get rid of it. Thanks
