Renting an RV from NY to FL
Has anyone done a road trip, renting an RV from NY to FL and back? Where did you rent? How was the experience?

Renting an RV from NY to FL
not that far, but we've rented RVs a couple times from NJ to upstate NY or vermont or ohio.... we loved it, and its great with kids because everything is right there with you all the time (snacks, bathroom, etc). we rented through cruise america and had good experiences. I'm pretty sure they start charging per mile after so many miles, so that might be something to think about. where in FL are you going? if its Disney i know theres a company that will deliver and set up a camper for you to Fort Wilderness campground on disney....

Re: Renting an RV from NY to FL
There is a place in Commack, Travel America RV Center, that rents luxury ones, but it's going to cost $$$$ to take it to FL...I think they charge mileage.
Cruise America is a franchise and has some locations on LI. A basic small one was $500 a night when I looked recently.

Whoa!!! It definitely must depend on the franchise owner... bc we’ve rented twice from one in NJ and didn’t pay anywhere near $500 a night!! although, we brought all of our own kitchen and bed stuff, (drive the RV to our house and loaded it up) so I guess it could add up if you rented those packages, too....

This was just a basic RV, nothing extra added!

Re: Renting an RV from NY to FL
I don't know prices as I've never rented one. But think about the bridges to get out of NY (much more money than a car).
Maybe try renting one in NJ (no local/expensive bridges to deal with)

we have rented one from cruiseacrossamerica, but they charge for mileage...that drive could be very pricey
