Repeat C-section moms...
Did you have a spinal block the 2nd time around? Can you request an epidural instead?
I had the epi the first time and it was heavenly!
I keep hearing that the second time around they give you a spinal block and all I'm hearing is side-effect horror stories.
Anyone have a good experience with a spinal block?

Me too. Also, isnt am epi for extended numbness? A spinal does the same thing without the tube in your back

Re: Repeat C-section moms...
i had a spinal block, just the one injection but i think they also have something like a catheter that stays in your back until the next day or something. i just delievered 6 weeks ago and i was scared too. i asked for nausea medicine and i was fine. the only effect i had was shaking, but they put a hot towel over my shoulders and by the tome i got to recovery it was gone. and maybe 2 day later i got bad gas pains in my shoulder area. other than that not bad at all!

Re: Repeat C-section moms...
I'm a repeat c-section mom...and I did have the spinal block this time around..the first time I had a epi...in comparing both c-section the second one with the spinal block was excellent. It has been 3 1/2 months and so far everything is fine. After the c-section I was a bit sick from the anest (vomiting) ...but that soon went away...I felt more pain and discomfort from the epi.

I had the spinal for both deliveries and had no complications or side effects.
