Replacing spring/summer flowers with mums.
I don't really have many flowers planted in the ground, but I have several pots and flower boxes outside my kitchen windows. My spring/summer flowers are still bright and going strong, but I want to start decorating for fall with some mums. I feel horrible killing them!!
What did you do? Should I move them to my backyard and buy new pots for the front or just replace them?

Re: Replacing spring/summer flowers with mums.
I just took all of my spring/summer flowers out today. Although some of them were still doing great, some of them were getting kind of "lanky" looking, if you can picture what I mean by that. So I cleaned everything out, weeded really good, and next week will plant a few mums in the front flower beds, for some color.
To me it is just part of the prep work that I do that makes my spring work easier. Less weeds in the fall means a LOT less weeds in the spring. And I didn't want to wait until it was colder outside to do it, I was happy to have a nice day today and so I got it done.

Re: Replacing spring/summer flowers with mums.
Id move them because even if they are annuals some MAY come back next year. Then you can enjoy them this year until they die.
