Repost from Parenting -carseats???
i found this in the consumer reports webpage:
• When possible, position the car seat in the center of the back seat, the safest place in a vehicle, even if that means attaching the car seat with the car safety belt and not the LATCH system.
What do you ladies pland to do? Cause i always thought it goes directly behind the driver or passenger seat. I will have my first baby in sept so I wanted to ask you ladies.

I thought it always went in the middle in the back seat? although, I don't know how it works with people who have bucket seats.

Middle of the back seat if possible.

Re: Repost from Parenting -carseats???
I used the latch which was on the sides, not middle. But now that Molly is getting longer I am thinking of moving her seat to the middle so she doesn't kick the back of the seats.

I always thought that too, however, a friend of mine put her baby in the middle in case she was ever in an accident the baby would have a better chance of not being hit (from the side). But once you have more than one child, I guess you have to put one on each side.

That is what I will have to do when this one comes.

Re: Repost from Parenting -carseats???
Caiden was put in the middle of the backseat. I wasn't comfortable with him being near the doors. Now he has to be because I need the shoulder seatbelt. Also, with this new baby coming he's going to have to be near the opposite door as well which I'm not too happy about. If I could I would much rather keep both of them in the middle. I'll feel a little bit better when we get a caravan and only 1 will be by the door and at least the doors will have side impact beams.
