Is the pain shooting from your back around to your stomach? That's what the beginning of labor felt like for me, although I had a horrible backache the entire day. The contractions started at night. It sounds like it may be starting for you

For me, I had a radiating pain up/down my lower back to my stomach. During the contraction my stomach would get really hard and tight.

Ooh Steph, I'm not sure but it certainly sounds like this can be it for you !!
My contractions never felt like Braxton Hicks.. they felt like extremely bad AF cramps that started in my lower back and radiated towards the front. Plus they definintely would 'peak' .. meaning start out like mild cramping, then get intense and painful, then back to mild cramping.
Any updates, did you talk to or call your doctor yet?

Thanks everyone. I am still here. Did not call my OB yet.
I am still getting contractions. They have been exactly 5 minutes apart for about 3 hours now. All lasting about a minute. The severity of the pain has not changed. I am just trying to make it through the work day then I will call the doc and see what he wants me to do. He told me to call when I can't stand the pain and I am getting pretty close. But, I don't know if that's because it's more annoying now that it's been all day.
I'll keep you guys posted.
I'm just afraid to go there then have them send me home.  I could potentially be like this for hours. I just don't want to break my water on the bus or anything, LOL.

I am sooooo ready! My shower was on the 7th and his room has been ready since.
When I went to the doc last week and he told me his weight was over 7 lbs (I know they could be wrong) then said "Come back in two weeks if I don't see you before then" and I knew then and there I should be ready. I was not dilated or anything, so I don't know what made him say that.

Ok I am stalking your posts ever since I saw this earlier.. I'm sooo excited for you!!!
I cannot believe you are still at work! You nut!! 
But please Steph, the last thing you should be worried about is being sent home if this is perhaps false labor .. I was the EXACT same way, I was reluctant to call my doctor and go to the hospital and only get sent home. I had been feeling the contractions since 1pm the day I went into labor and it wasn't until Dh got home around 7pm that he mae me call the doc. 11 pm that night that i finally got to the hospital - by then I was in active labor and the contractions were only 1-3 mins apart (I didn't deliver until the next morning BUT it was true labor the entire time!)
And don't worry about your water breaking - they actually had to break mine at the hospital, it never broke on its own!
Oh my gosh I'm soo darn excited for ya!! (umm did I say that already ?)
