Re: Repost from Pregnancy: Dr H patients who already had their baby...

I went in early for my c-section. It was scheduled for June 1st, but I went into labour on May 22nd. I had a placenta previa (complete) and we knew since my level II that if it did not move that I needed a c-section.

Dr Dolisi ended up delivering baby G, and he was amazing - just as patient and understanding as Dr H is. He was amazing with me and DH in the OR, and he came to see me everyday while I was in the hospital. He even came into recovery right after I delivered to make sure I was feeling Ok as the anesthesia wore off.

The healing for a c-section depends entirely on what/why they have to do it. Since I had a previa, I had a different kind of c-section. I only know this b/c every OB intern in the hospital wanted to look at my incisionChat Icon Evidently I became a live case-study for them that week! Chat Icon I have good days & bad days. The most important thing, to me, is to listen to your body. If you are over-doing it, then your body will let you know...KWIM?

That's great to know that he came around to check on you alot. I only met with him once so I really want Dr. H to deliver - but after hearing this I feel good about him too.

Did Dr. H come to visit you alot also? I don't know how they have the time to have so many patients - and still deliver babies. Chat Icon

She indeed came alot, and every time she came she apologized for missing my delivery...she really felt badly & took to to heart that she missed it. Chat Icon

She also came around with another one of the doctors that they use during vacations and such for extra coverage, so I had a gazillion Drs checking in on me. It was a great experience with them all.

Also, they made sure to tell the nurses about some of my other medical issues I was having before my PG, so that they would not offer me meds that I did not need, etc. (They offer everyone a stool softener as part of the daily meds, but I opted to not take them & just loaded up on fibre instead).

I responded on PG, but again , in regards to the scar, I will say this...MY SIL had a c section 9 months ago and I remember after birth her scar was red and looked to be honest, gross to me.

My scar is not even noticable. It just looks like two pieces of skin held together. Its not even red at all ....and its not that long and honestly, not even that noticable. I was VERY surprised about all this.

Like Msmbv Dr. Dolisi came to see me in Recovery and I saw Dr. H twice while I was in the hospital and she did my sons circumscion which by the way every nurse in place said it was amazing looking ( which is WEIRD to hear....lol)

Yes, the OB does the circumcision. They have a set up in a sterile room off of the nursery.

Regarding the scar, it shrinks. I look like friggin Frankenstein right now, but my friend, who also had a c-section with both Dr H & Dr D, has a scar so incredibly small that you can hardly notice it. When she first got it though it was frightening!
