repost from travel- babymoon
DH and I are thinking of taking a trip in June (I'll be 5 months preggo) We're considering a few options and would love some opinions. We're also trying to do it as cheaply as possible. 1) stay at my timeshare in Orlando for a week. It will be $200pp for airfare, about $200 for a car rental, and $85 to exchange my timeshare. So roughly $700 before spending. We were going to skip the whole Disney thing and maybe do Seaworld for a day, but spend the rest of the time relaxing at my resort. We'll have a kitchen so maybe we'll go out for dinner 2-4 times and probably have lunch at the pool snackbar ($20-30 a day) 2) Got to my timeshare outside of Playa del Carmen for a week. $324pp for direct airfare, won't need to pay an exchange fee. So a little more than $600 before spending. We would probably eat out more, but Mexico isn't too expensive and there are lots of options. 3) Go to Puerto Plata, DR for a week all-inclusive, direct flight. Can stay at the RIU Merengue (fairly nice resort) for $627pp. It's a great deal, but it's the start of rainy season and I know all-inclusive food can get repetitive.

Re: repost from travel- babymoon
I would choose #2 personally-still pretty inexpensive but you get to go somewhere exotix. I have been to Playa Del Carmen-the only thing I would worry about is the food? You don't want to get sick while PG like the ice and stuff so I don't know maybe I'm switching back to option #1? I am no help I know!

We were at my timeshare in Mexico last October for our one year anniversary and neither of us any had issues with the food or water.

In that case I would go with #2!
Also you could get ome cute Mexican stuff for baby's room if you are into that sort of style

I am going to Aruba for my Babymoon too!
Out of your choices I would pick Playa del Carmen, I always love Mexico. Florida you can still go anytime, it is an easy trip to bring the baby on.
