Repost from ttc- UPDATE BELOW!

Figured I would post here too...
___________________________________________
Sorry for the phony name. I hate it when other people do it, but now I understand why. I am trying to stay anonymous because I do have friends and family who are on this site and I am not ready to come out. Anyway I recently had a miscarriage and have begun trying again. I think I ovulated on Feb 1st or 2. I didn't keep track of anything except my last period which was Jan. 19th. My cycles are anywhere from 28-30 days which would mean I could have gotten my period yesterday (Thursday) or I will get it tomorrow (Saturday). On Valentines day I took a dollar tree test and it looked like there could have been the faintest line. I mean so faint that you had to stick it under the light. I figured it was an evaporation line and an hour after I took it I had pinkish/reddish/brown spotting which I assumed was AF on her way. But it immediately stopped. I had no spotting yesterday so I took another dollar tree test and again it came up with a line, but this time it was darker and I could actually see it. But again I didn't want to get my hopes up so I figured I would wait till Saturday to see if AF definitely doesn't show. Then today I had spotting on and off all day. At one point I thought, that is it she is here. I had red/pink blood/spotting (sorry tmi). But again it stopped this afternoon. Than tonight I had brown spotting. I have no idea what is going on! I have also had cramps on and off the last few days. I figure tomorrow I will see what happens and if AF doesn't show up I will call the doctor on Monday. I am even thinking of going out to the dollar tree and getting another test to see if it comes out darker. I want this really bad, but don't want to get my hopes up after having a miscarriage. And unfortunately my dh doesn't want to know anything till I pratically have a sono done, because he was so disappointed after my m/c. Any advice?

I would getting a more sensitive test like the digital one to get a more definite answer at this point.

I agree... either a digital or First Response... those dollar ones are sometimes faulty... Good Luck

Was you MC natural? I.e. did they say there was something they could do (medication, etc.) to prevent it in the future if you got to a doctor right away? If not, I wouldn't want a more sensitive test because it is more likely to tell you you are pregnant in the very early stages which is when the pregnancy is least viable. Personally, I would try to hold out several more days and then test again (with any test you choose). Then, I would make an appointment to confirm.

In any case, good luck and I hope it works out.

ITA. given your recent history I would wait a few days to see if AF comes on full force before trying to test again.

I agree that you should test again in a few days but I just wanted to tell you that I had a natural m/c & then conceived 6 weeks later. Also, I waited to go to the dr just incase I started bleeding again. It was much less stressful to not worry about any hcg levels & just see what happens. Everyone is different though & you might want to go to the dr right away.

If you do a search on here I think you will see that a lot of women got pg in the cycle immed following a m/c

This is true. Most women that have 1 m/c go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies. I do differ from everyone on here in that I think you shoudl go to the Dr get your hcg and progesterone tested and if your progesterone is low get supplemental progesterone. You spotting could indicate implantation blood or low progesterone.

Well everyone it looks like I am definitely pregnant! Chat Icon I took a digital last Saturday and it said pregnant within seconds. And it wasn't even my fmu. I took it late afternoon. Any spotting had stopped, and I called my doctor today. He said he didn't need to see me till I am 8 weeks, so my first appointment is 3/19. Seems so far away! I am only 4 1/2 weeks, but I have a good feeling this time around. Thanks for all your support. I am happy to be joining you all and I promise I will reveal myself after my appointment!
