REs who specialize in endometriosis?
Does anyone have an RE they would recommend that specialize in endometriosis?
My gyn said I most likely have endometriosis based on my symptoms and referred me to an RE since we are ttc for more than 2 yrs (I went to him after my former gyn and a gastro were useless). The RE does not specialize in it and I would like to see someone who does and is very familiar with it bc the pain is unbearable lately and the other scares me sometimes.
I will post later to introduce myself to you ladies (long post, lol), but basically I have been to multiple drs and am frustrated. I would appreciate any recs or advice. TIA

Re: REs who specialize in endometriosis?
I don't know if there is an RE that specializes in endo.... I do know that you need to have a laproscopy to diagnose endo. It does not have to be done by an RE. I was diagnosed with it and my obgyn did this surgery. All went well and I really like my doctor, Dr Pilliteri in Deer Park. He also did an HSG and other fertility testing while I was out. Good Luck!

Re: REs who specialize in endometriosis?
Pillitteri does some IF treatments but isn't a RE. He specializes in endo too. Endo can be an autoimmune issue and can result in high NK and recurrent loss. Braverman and SIRM treat immune issues.
I did ivf with SIRM and they put me on bcp and lupron before my cycle to surpress the endo and keep it at bay.
They believe my issue was that my tubes, although clear with lap and HSG, were either being constricted by endo which meant they couldn't propel the embryo or egg down or that the tubes filled with fluid at certain times and prevented the egg from coming down.
There is no way to tell for sure if endo was my issue but my first ivf worked.
Good luck!!

Re: REs who specialize in endometriosis?
i'm not sure of any REs that specialize in endo but most of them are very familiar with it. When you look up SART info on a RE it will give you the stats for all types of situations including endo. (sart.org) I made sure to look up the number of endo cases my RE's clinic worked with.
I have endo which was diagnosed by my obgyn. I had a lap to confirm with my ob and he did a great job with the surgery.
