REs who treat immune issues in NY
Hi Ladies,
I had immune testing done and found my ANA is elevated and I have mthfr (the one where I need to take metanx and not the serious kind) but no other major issues. The RE who did immune testing suggested I take metanx, baby aspirin, and lovenox for my next cycle. Unfortunately for insurance reasons I can not cycle with him. I need to find an RE who will treat me for positive ANA with no RH factor. Other than Dr. Braverman and Sher institute, who treats immune issues in NY? My insurance will cover IVF if I go to one of these places. Cornell, Columbia, NYU, LIIVF, RMAofNY, RSofNY, Genesis Fertility, and North Shore. Does anyone know if there is an RE at one of these practices who will treat positive ANA? Thanks!

I'm not sure of anyone but the sher Institute and Dr. B who treat it, but can you go to the other Drs you mentioned and at the R-Immunologist for the immune issues?

All the practices I mentioned in my post are established practices and I doubt that they will work with a R-immunologist. If its something they want to treat, I think they will do it themselves. I did call one place and I am told that unless I am diagnosed with an auto immune condition, they will not treat ANA. Couldn't get an yes or no answer from couple of other places I called. Thanks.

I agree with those clinics to some degree. You can still have a positive ANA test even when you're healthy. Obviously your body is putting forth some response or auto immune reaction to your own tissue, but unless you have been diagnosed with Lupus or rheumatoid arthritis or other autoimmune disorders it makes sense. At the same time, I do know that Dr. Braverman does work with other Dr's to treat patients. Like you said, they have to be willing to work with him. On top of that you'll have to pay that one time fee too. Sorry. Hang in there. I know there are ladies on here that have similar issues.

I have an autoimmune disease and positive ANA, mthfr gene, but have not tested positive for clotting issues. I saw Dr. Cohen at North Shore and loved him. I am almost 30 weeks pregnant. I take extra folic acid and baby asprin and for the first 16 weeks used lovenox prophylacticly. If you have any questions let me know.
