Research for fundraiser

School fundraisers, rescues, specific disease organizations, town organizations , etc. If you could buy a coupon book with really good LOCAL offers in it (not the usual 10% off you see in the paper but more like groupon type of offers) and 1/2 of the sale went directly to the charity , would you buy it?

I know there used to be (and some still use it) the entertainment book for $25 and you buy it through the schools, etc. but that book is hardly local and is mostly commercial places.

If you could open the book and see familiar mom & pops within a 5 town radius of your home with offers from 40 or so businesses in it, which would make the book pay for itself within 1 or 2 uses, would you buy it For $25.00?

Probably not because I always forget to use the damn coupons.
I stopped buying the school fundraiser book for that reason.
I never remembered to use it

Re: Research for fundraiser

I would, especially if it supported local business and not big box or chain stores.

It's called Kids' Stuff.
Coupons for retail stores, bowling alleys (but ones I never go to or that are too far) Michaels crafts- which I can get on my phone, Dress Barn (out of business soon LOL) some yogurt and ice places, Dutch Wonderland (but I was able to get better discounts elsewhere ) Go Karts,
All things I rarely use or if i do I forget to grab the coupon
Plus you can pull up so many coupons on your phone now a days so it's kind of a waste

Agree 100%. I always forget. They need to make an app fundraiser so you can just use the phone. Much easier and saves the trees! I always feel bad returning the book back in their backpack, but I don't want them.

ETA - probably would be easier to navigate through them too if it was an app rather than a book I have to carry around and go through

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback

The issue people find with apps is there is no real trail to show your product is working and with an app, you do a search and find what you’re looking for. With a book, you look through it and may see something you didn’t even know you were Interested in. Just another + for the merchants to get seen

No I would not use it. More often than not those types of books have coupons for more places that I won't go to than I would go to. For example fast food places - we don't go to any on a regular basis. So I would never use the coupons. We don't do frozen yogurt. Etc.

My school football team sells these cards (kinda like a business card but laminated) and on it it has a bunch of coupons from all the local stores - even mom and pops- and you carry it in your wallet and just show the business the card when you go in there

Thank you.

They are trying to stay away from fast food like McD or Wendy’s. It’s more of your local Italian place, sushi spot, dry cleaner - For better than the usual 10-20% off. They agree the books now are hardly relevant to the towns they are sold in

Yea. Those cards have been around for a while. But they are usually much smaller discounts than what would be offered in the local book

Thanks for your feedback

I chair dine to donate fundraisers at the elementary school so I know how it is to raise money for the PTA. I didn't chair the books, but local restaurants, which is a win for both and also made a lot of money for the school doing Hershey park tickets. Our biggest fundraiser was ladies night Bingo and tons of local places contributed really cool gift bags for that. Good luck with the books!

Re: Research for fundraiser

If it was, for example, for my son's school I would buy it. But it would need to be an aggressive offer. Meaning that if I get it on his backpack, I would return it. But if I go to the school and there are moms offering it and accepting credit cards, etc, I would buy it. I don't think I would get so much benefit from it, I would get it only to help with the fundraising.
