Re: restaurant reccomendations needed
i was thinking something more adult like. we are getting away from our kids and want a nice dinner. i think going to a place like this will make me think about my kids all night.

I would be inclined to say Ciao Baby in Commack or Jackson's in Commack, but that may not be close enough for you.

Yes I was also going to suggest Ciao Baby. I love Houlihans in Lake Grove also.

Re: restaurant reccomendations needed
depends on the atmosphere you're after but here are some thoughts:
- Red Dish in Commack... great martini bar
- Tellers Chophouse... expensive but so worth it
- Grill Room in Hauppauge
Beyond Huntington which has lots of great options. I'd consider Port Jefferson... after dinner you can walk through the town or stop for a drink. My favorite is Pasta Pasta but I also thought the Elk Room was great. There is also Paces Steakhouse and Ruvos Italian Restaurant. All great options.
Good luck with you pick and have fun!

Taste in Sayville. Nice crowd, decent bar, good food, pleasant atmosphere.

I forgot they had opened up in Smithtown. I have been to the one in Woodbury and it was very good!

Re: restaurant reccomendations needed
For the life of me I can't think of the name right now, but it is a fondue restaurant in Farmingdale or Melville on Rt. 110. I have no idea why the name just completely slipped my mind, but I have to say I went with 6 of my girlfriends, and we had a great time. Very different
