Restaurant Reccomendations/Sightseeing suggestions? London and Paris
We're leaving for our trip to London/Paris in a week and a half. I have London pretty much covered for what we'll be doing there but have no idea where to eat. Paris, I'm just clueless about.
Any recommendations?
Thanks a lot!

I just returned from my Europe trip!! My favorite meal was in Paris...Chez Fernand it's in the 6th district. Ill look up the exact address at home and send your way!
As for food in London I just winged it and got pretty lucky...nothing I can really remember. I stayed in South Kensington and found a lot of cute cafes and restaurants there.
Anything else you need to know?? I spent three days in each city and then a week in Italy....you will have a blast!

Re: Restaurant Reccomendations/Sightseeing suggestions? London and Paris
Avoid Garfunkels and the Aberdeen Steak house in London...avoid it like the plague. Also avoid most food in and around Leicester Square, however if you head towards China Town, you can get a good meal. I know you said you have London covered, but thats my advice.
London is a tourist city, it will be easy to see everything if you do a hop on hop off bus. The Tate Modern is fab, the portrait gallery, the London eye...just walk the streets and enjoy!! Its a shame the dollar is so weak!!!

Wow, I am surprised you actually got one! There are people who work for the museum who take anyone taking pics off the line and to the back since you are forbidden to take any pics of any paintings. Very sneaky-- I like it!

Just don't use a flash if you try to do that at home. Flashes damage art.

For good crepes, head down to Rue Clair or Clare. I went to Paris years ago, so I am no help with restaurant suggestions, b/c I was poor and backpacking. We lived off crepes and patisseries and fromageries. Yum!

In Paris, visit Saint-Chappelle. It's a gorgerous chapel and on the second floor, all the walls are stained glass.

Re: Restaurant Reccomendations/Sightseeing suggestions? London and Paris
DH & I ate in China Town 2x while we were there last year .. food was excellent.
Otherwise, almost everything is pubs pub pubs ... lots of red meat and such.
For sightseeing: The Tower of London, Windsor Castle (if you have time, if not I suggest a tour of another palace just to get an idea of how the royals live, LOL), Also Westminister Abby is beautiful.
OHH OHH OHHH and for 'lunch" you MUST have a Cornish Pasty from West Cornwall Pasty Company - I highly recommend the Steak & Stilton Pasty. LINK TO WEBSITE
They have locations all over England --- Covent Garden, Windsor, a few train stations, etc ...). Sooo sooo soo good!
