Claudios is right in Greenport. There is also some Lobster shack right there also, but I think tis like a take out place...

Re: restaurants on the water (east end li)
We just got back from Greenport! Claudio's is on the water, but IMO, the food, atomsphere, and the view weren't that great. It was just ok, I wouldn't particularly go back. I saw another place on the water called Scrimshaw, which seemed more upscale and nice, but we didn't try it. It was right by Claudio's. If you don't mind no water view, we loved the Frisky Oyster and Fifth Season.

The Soundview is on the Sound. Orient by the Sea overlooks the water as well. Legends in New Suffolk is across the street from the water.

There is also Cliff's Elbow East in Southold. Great steak place. Seafood Barge is also a good one. Bay and Main is not on the water but an awesome place in Greenport off of Main Street. Just north of Claudios. There is also the Old Mill Inn in Mattituck with seating on the dock. Very peaceful. I haven't eaten there in years though.

Re: restaurants on the water (east end li)
Claudio's is one but honestly i think it is overpriced and the food is really not worth the money.
There is a rather new restaurant called Scrimshaw which is right off the docks across from Claudios. I've never been but it looks nice.
Another place is Chowder Pot Pub. It is right where the Greenport ferry is. The food is good and the view is great. The inside is very small and I would probabaly never sit inside again - the outside si really nice though. The Chowder is great and if you like steamers - they are super yummy.
Another restuarant that I really like but is not on the water is Front Street Grill. It is pretty much across from Harborfront. They have great food - I love the lobster ravioli (which I had twice in one week last time we went). They also sometimes have this awesome special appetizer - Moraccan Mussells -if you are a fan of mussels it is to die for.
The Loft (the upstairs area) is also good. There is an inside and terrace seating area. Their salad with goat cheese and cranberries is so good.
You cannot miss Sandpiper. It is the BEST icecream shop in greenport. Oh and for coffee you must go to Aldo's Too. They just opened a Starbucks (which I am not a fan of for just coffee) but Aldo's coffee is one of the best I've ever tasted in the U.S. plus they often have some really tasty desserts.
There are so many cute shops in greenport. You will love it. There is a cute jewelry store called Metal Monk. Very cute stuff. Another cute store is Sweet Indulgences. In addition to candy they have a lot of cute stuff (although a lot of it is a bit pricey).
If you have any questions - just ask. And have fun!
