Restaurants Rec for DH birthday tomorrow - Suffolk?
Tomorrow is DH's bday and we are going out to eat (have a babsitter folr the night  )
Can't decide where to go - We like to try new places when we get the chance to go out.
He loves Italian, Steak, Thai, Sushi, American.
We are in Hauppauge but willing to travel about 20 min or so.
Any suggestions?

Its not much to look at from the outside but Francesco's Trattoria in East Islip has EXCELLENT Italian food.
For Thai food.....I like Galanga Thai Restaurant in Bay Shore.

Casa Rustica, Butera's, Chop House (all in Smithtown); Grill Room (Hauppauge), Pace's, Ruvo, Fifth Season (PJ) or Prime in Huntington.

Thanks for all the suggestions - we have been to almost all the ones you mentioned and they are so good. I think we are going to try La Tavola in Sayville.
