Restaurants to hold a dinner
I know this is going to be pointless, but does anyone know of a nice, maybe an Italian restaurant that we could have the dinner for after the Baptism that's not too expensive? I pulling at strings here... I know! LI is so much more expensive than here in NC so I doubt it.
Thanks ladies!
Oh... the church is in Hauppauge.

Re: Restaurants to hold a dinner
We had our rehearsal dinner in a chinese buffet because my Dh parents wouldnt cough up any money for us and so we had to plan last minute. It was really cheap and very nice. They gave us a private room for no additional charge than what the buffet normally is. My SIL had her confirmation there also, its next to Cioa baby in Commack not far from Hauupauge.
Also- what about having it at a Knights of columbus and serving heros and baked ziti and a couple of salads. We had my sons babptism in a Knights of Columbus in Kings park- it was 300 to rent the hall. Then you get the food. My family all made food for us and we also got a hero- it was pretty inexpensive. I know that there are KOC in Hauppauge as well. They have a website withall the locations. I dont have the link though

You should check out the Irish Times Pub in Holbrook they have great prices for packages. Also what about the Chinese Buffet in Islandia in the same parking lot as Dave and Buster, they have a private room and I see parties in there every time I go.

La Casa at Crab Meadow Beach was pretty reasonable. $24.95 for a sit down meal that included beverages, not alcohol.

We did the Chinese Buffet in Hicksville and it turned out nice. We had it at lunch time, so it was even more reasonable for our budget. Our family raved about it!

Re: Restaurants to hold a dinner
I'm going to second the chinese buffet idea. Probably the most inexpensive "restaurant" option.
You might want to check out the Crystal Garden in Smithtown on RT 110 (just south of Main St in Smithtown.)

Re: Restaurants to hold a dinner
What about the church? Does it have a fellowship hall that you can use after and just serve appetizers and cake?
ETA: I agree with everyone else about the Chinese Buffet. We did that for our RD and everyone really enjoyed it. I think ours was $13 PP. It was at Ying Yang (Stonybrook, I think)

I think this is a great idea, would definitely help save some money. Most of the food can be purchased at Costco or BJs.

Re: Restaurants to hold a dinner
what about just cake at a grandparent or godparent's afterward? there's no need for you to host a dinner, especially if you are being nice enough to come all the way up so they can all participate. JMO.

Re: Restaurants to hold a dinner
We had my bridal shower and baby shower and my mom's 60th at Orlandos in Commack. They do a beautiful job and the price is not bad at all. FM me if you want details.
If you call, tell them Stacey referred you...I just referred another LIFer and I think they gave them a better price because we've done so much there.
Good luck!

I had DD's baptism party at The Old Street Pub in Smithtown. I think they did a really nice job. The food was delicious and I though they were reasonably priced.

We had Jesse's baptism party at Francesco's in Babylon. Very reasonable - sit down dinner starts around $15 per person if I remember correctly. Food is delicious too!
