Restless legs

I used to watch the commercials for RLS (restless leg syndrome) and say 'Geesh, they have a pill for every stupid thing.' I was talking to my mom telling her I was so glad we got a new couch with recliners because I don't know what to do with my legs. My legs are most comfy up, but I seriously want to just remove them. They never seem comfy, especially at work. Then my mom says, 'Oh, you must be getting RLS. I had that with each pregnancy.' Anybody else? Chat Icon

Re: Restless legs

This an on-going issue with me even since I was a kid. So does my brother.

We don't take any pills. We just walk out of bed and walk around a bit, try to relax and it usually go away.

VERY ANNOYING!!!!! I guess after 30 years having this symptom, they now have a name for it. So... it was not just in my head...Chat Icon

Re: Restless legs

I got this very early on and it would bother me horribly siitting at my desk at work all day. I actually started having a banana a day because I was reading things like extra potassium and calcium helps. It actually got better and only very occassionally will I get a round of it at night now. There is a small percentage of pg women that get it (I think 15-20%) and it should go away pretty quickly after birth.

Re: Restless legs

I had this as a child and it was awful. My mother used to have to knead my legs until I went to sleep and then I had to stay perfectly still. As an adult, I luckily have not encountered this.....or with pregnancy...fingers crossed.
