resturant for 1st birthday
i need a place that can hold over 100 people, we're looking at 100 adults plus as many as 37 kids. (I know i need to trim the list)
but i really would like to find a restaruant that can hold this many that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. if i could come in under 20 that would be ideal.
anyone have any suggestions ,we're in nassau county, south shore, but would travel to western suffolk or north shore nassau if there is a good suggestion.
we were going to do a chinese buffet in rockville centre, but it closed. and the one by my in east meadow changed ownership and the food isn't what it used to be.
thanks.

Re: resturant for 1st birthday
4 ideas:
1 - in Franklin Square/Garden City area I've been to a party of a similar size at Lucky Duck. It's italian and pretty good - nice place.
2 - in Bellmore there is a restaurant bar on Petit call KJ Farrells. I was there for a 30th and it was a lot of fun. Not sure how many people it holds.
3 - in Bellmore also on Petit the Firehouse has an upstairs room that is very nice... you just need to bring in your own caterer.
4 - Ubertos in Garden City/New Hyde Park... they have a nice upstairs room available
Past that I think you're on the right track for your price range -- chinese buffet or italian will get you the best options. Also look at something in the day verse evening.

Re: resturant for 1st birthday
Hey! 100 or so it a lot of people. You might want to try some of the more inexpensive catering halls too.
Lucky duck does a lot of showers and parties they are actually really good - you have walked by it with me before.
Not sure what kind of food you want - but Grimaldi's does parties all the time they are pretty reasonable.
Very good chinese, nice restaurant, reasonable and they have parties all the time - is The Orchid on franklin Ave in GC - I had my bridal shower there and many of the people all said they loved the place and had been there for other parties and they always love it - they do family style with lazy susans at each table. I always see bday parties and showers there. They do a very good job.
what about renting a place like a KoC or VA hall?

Re: resturant for 1st birthday
i'm trying to avoid the vfw and koc becaue i dont want to do set up and clean up if i am going to spend this kind of money. there are a few halls near me but i have heard they arent so cheap when you add in rental plus food, plus entertainment and have to do set up and clean up.
is the lucky duck that big, i didnt think it could hold that many people?

Re: resturant for 1st birthday
Jackie Reilleys can hold 100 people and they have a party plan for $18.95. They are in Bethpage on Hempstead Turnpike in the AC Moore Shopping center.

Re: resturant for 1st birthday
I would call them but I think Lucky duck could hold 100 people it isn't wide but it goes back pretty far - I would be surprised if they couldn't hold 100.
