Retro Fitness child care

Does anyone have any experience with Retro Fitness and more importantly their child care. I belong to Lucille Roberts but the hours for both the gym and childcare aren't condusive to what I really need. I went to the new Dix Hills one which looks nice, and the price is right (although no classes, bummer for me) but the babysitter called out the day I was there. I know it's new and all but there was no back-up plan? If I schlepped 3 kids to the gym I'd be pretty upset if I couldn't workout. Any experiences?

Re: Retro Fitness child care

just recently joined the same Retro Fitness.
I have brought DS 2x.
And once I did haul him on a sunday and the child care person called out.

I agree, if they are going to have childcare they must have a back up plan.

But the price is so right.

Unlimited childcared $9.99/ not bad

I was thinking of joining this gym too.
Stinks they don't have back up child care.
I was going to join while DS was in school, this way, I'd just bring DD with me.

Re: Retro Fitness child care

I go there. I chose it for a few reasons. The closeness to my house, the price, and the available childcare. Can't beat 20 a month membership and 10 a month unlimited babysitting.
But....I have had to return home several times because the babysitter didn't show up! They are supposed to start at 8 am. I am usually there between 8:30 and 9. And it is very frustrating to have to put DD back in the car and return home!
I think part of the proble is they have they have 18/19 year olds (I'm guessing ages) working the childcare. Great girls! But I'm sure when it is a late night out they have trouble getting to work on time.
I do know there is a sign up that they are looking for babysitters. I think some of these girls may be going to college.
One of the workers told me they may swich to start babysitting at 9am. I was upset at this. But I will deal with it.
My DD hasn't been there in a few weeks because she has a cast on her arm and they won't let her in. But I will start bringing her again in 3 weeks.
If anyoone wants to work out together let me know

I agree with the price although I'd be bringing 3 so it's about 18 bucks unlimited. That works out to still be cheaper than Lucille Roberts child care though. Note to self do not bring them on Sunday, if I want to have a workout, lol.

I'd love to workout with someone but I may be going later around 9:30 or so.

Does anyone know what time their baby-sitting ends? I'd like to go in the evenings, if babysitting was available.

Re: Retro Fitness child care

I'm sorry - I would be LIVID if the babysitter didn't show up!!! I am reading at least 3-4 people on here reporting the same thing! I would call corporate - that is NOT OK - yes, they are 18 and 19 years old - but this is a JOB they are taking! That is horrendous they would not show up or are late for a job like that????? Who does that?
